Poverty

Syracuse has one of the worst poverty ratings among cities in the United States. And our poverty epidemic is not restricted to Syracuse; many of our region's rural communities suffer from extreme scarcity as well. But what does this really mean for the residents of our neighborhoods?

Racial Equity

Long-standing and far-reaching structural systems have been created and sustained over centuries to hinder access to economic, educational and social opportunities for Black, Latino, Native American and Asian/Pacific-Islander people, while also facilitating greater access to those opportunities for White people and their families.

Education

Children really are our future. The little ones that we are raising today will one day be working at our family businesses, voting in local elections and teaching future generations.

Health

The health of Central New York’s residents is wide-ranging. It includes everything from disease to nutrition, mental health, access to health services and physical safety.

Housing

Our homes, and the neighborhood communities we reside within, can give us safety and comfort. They are the places where we can connect with friends, neighbors and loved ones. They can create and nurture a sense of belonging.

People
